Privately owned this smallest working distillery in Speyside was lovingly restored to its former glory by malt whisky specialists Gordon & MacPhail. It was reopened in 1998 by HRH The Prince of Wales and has since won many awards and plaudits including Scottish Food & Drink Excellence Awards. They produce an enticing range of fine malts including the world's first Organic Whisky. The Distillery tours are fascinating and the Visitor Centre charming - you can even buy Wendy's cookbook there! Their world renowned whisky shop & deli in Egin is also well worth a visit.

		Portsoy Banffshire,  AB45 2SQ Tel: 01261 842367				Glenglassaugh Distillery produces single malt Scotch whisky near the pretty coastal town of Portsoy high above Sandend Bay. Local barley and water produce this fine single malt. Founded in 1875 and later rebuilt in 1960. In 1986 it was mothballed until 2008 when the distillery was bought over and reopened and the rest is history. Given the resurgence in good food in Banffshire it is fitting they have their own malt! No shop as yet but opportunity for tours...so contact them direct.
